Callaway High School, I would like to congratulate the Class of 2012
and extend a warm welcome to the Class of 2016. We hope that
everyone has a safe, restful, and relaxing summer break. Please

Callaway High School will hold its commencement exercises at 8 pm on Saturday, May 19 at Callaway Stadium. Graduates & staff must report to the stadium by 7pm. In the event of rain, graduation will be at 9 pm at Faith Baptist Church (ticket only admission).
Beginning May 21st, CHS summer office hours will be Monday-Thursday from 8am-5:00 pm. For more information about Callaway High School's summer schedule click here.
All students participating in athletics or band must purchase medical insurance. Insurance must be purchased even if the students are covered under another medical insurance policy. The medical insurance premium for students participating in athletics is $49 and the premium for students participating in band is $33. Students who participate in both athletics and band must pay the higher athletic premium. Please be advised that a $50 deductible is required for all claims. Insurance may be purchased at registration or from a coach or band director.
Parents! We are in process of creating an email database so we may contact you regarding important events occurring at CHS. Please email your child's counselor with your email contact information so we may notify you when necessary. Congratulations to the Cavalier Baseball team who advanced to the 3rd round of state playoffs by defeating Crawford County in a double header on Thursday night. Third round action will be a double header at home Tuesday, May 15th (3 pm & 5:30 pm) against Brantley County. Pictured here is pitcher Nick O'berry.

Callaway High School recent held their annual Academic Awards Night. Ushers for the evening included the top 5% of the junior class. The evening was under the direction of Mrs. Sandra Langley and Mrs. Lynn Casey, Senior Class Sponsors. Congratulations to our CHS 2012 Valedictorian, Susie Cha! Susie is the daughter of Man-Rong Cha & Sunny Pak of LaGrange. Susie plans to attend The University of Georgia in the fall of 2012.

Congratulations to our CHS Salutatorian, Jordan Striblin! Jordan is the son of Randy & Toni Striblin of Hogansville. Jordan plans to attend The University of West Georgia in the fall of 2012.

CHS Honor Graduates for the class of 2012 were recently named. Honor Graduates are students who rank in the top 15% of their senior class. The 2012 CHS Star Student is Alicia Bolnick. Alicia is the daughter of Alison Bolnick of LaGrange. Alicia plans to attend LaGrange College in the fall.
On Friday night the Callaway Cavaliers Baseball team took on the Westminster Wildcats in a doubleheader in the first round of the state baseball playoffs. Westminster won the first game 4-2. In the second game the Cavaliers prevailed behind a no-hitter from pitcher Nick O'Berry. The third game took place on Saturday and saw the Cavaliers win behind another strong pitching performance from senior Brew Parker. The game saw freshman shortstop Perry Keith homer in the fifth inning to tie the game at 1-1, and the Cavaliers took the lead for good in the sixth inning, 3-1. Callaway will play Crawford County in the second round of the state playoffs with a doubleheader on Wednesday beginning at 3:30.
The Class of 2014 recently celebrated with their peers at the annual ring ceremony. The event was hosted by Mr. Rick Shrewsbury of the Herff Jones Company. Sophomores and their parents enjoyed the presentation of class rings by Dr. Greer.

Callaway High School's PTO recently sponsored the school's first annual Callaway's Got Talent event in the large gym. Fourteen talented CHS students competed for the first place prize of $100. Josh Kimbrell won the first place prize of $75 with his professional quality and original boom box composition. Reese Reisinger played and sang 'More Than Miles' by Brantley Gilbert and won the second place prize of $50. Doliesha Mathewis-Rosser won the third place prize of $25 for singing 'Someone Like You' by Adele.

The field trip allowed them to see the historic campus, visit a senior Air Force ROTC Detachment, and tour Moton Field (site where the Tuskegee Airman trained). Sophomore Keshun Freeman received the 2012 Rotary Youth Leadership Award from the LaGrange Rotary Club. Keshun is one of two local students who will attend the 2012 RYLA conference in Americus this summer.

Callaway High School will hold its 7th annual golf
tournament on Saturday, June 2, 2012 at
Overlook Golf Links. Companies or teams interested in
sponsorship or play, please contact Pete Wiggins, Eric Woods, or
Allen Bradshaw at 706-845-2070. Your donation for the team or
sponsorship is tax deductible. Sponsors names will appear on the
back of over 100 tournament tee shirts and on a sign at a tee box.

Students Leslie Ann Hutchins and Cody Mimbs are excited about the latest Kia donation to CHS. The 2012 Optima has all the latest features including a backup camera, air conditioned seats, dual sun roofs and stereo system.
