The Callaway golf team won the 5AA region tournament for the second year in a row!

They will be heading to the AA state tournament at Waynesboro Country Club to compete on May 7th.  Low medalist for the tournament was Patrick Strickland with a 78.  He has been a solid player all year and he came through in the clutch.  Other players for Callaway include Matt Caraway with an 84, Aaron McClellan with a 90 and Muhammed Nu-Man with a 95.  The team is looking forward to state in a couple of weeks.  Manchester finished second with a 370.   Jarred Watson of Heard with a 92 will go to state as an individual qualifier.  For the girls, Carver won with a 242 and Jordan finished second with a 257.  Heard County finished with a 263.  The individual qualifier for the girls was Sarah Edgar from Manchester.  Thanks to all of our venues for contributing to our success:  Overlook Golf Links and Golf Pro Bobby Sabia, First Tee of LaGrange, and the LaGrange American Legion Golf Course.  With most players returning next year, and a good crop of young golfers, we look forward to continuing our success into next season.

Fall is just around the corner!

Volleyball tryouts will be May 21st and 22nd, 5:00 pm-6:30 pm. Up-to-date physicals are required to try out.

The volleyball team will be having their 2nd annual yard sale and car wash on May 5th starting at 7:00 a.m. We will be set up right next to Mike Patton Ford. Come out and support the Lady Cavs!

ATTENTION PARENTS AND ATHLETES:

The Free Athletic Physical opportunity is quickly approaching!

The Free Athletic Physical will be held on Tuesday, May 8th at 4:30pm.  Those eligible are upcoming 9th graders and above.  Students must have a physical form with the history section filled out and signed in the three appropriate places denoted on the form prior to the examination.  Any student not having this form signed by the appropriate parent or guardian prior to coming to  the examination cannot and will not be examined.  The signatures are required on pages 1, 2 and 4.  Physical forms may be picked up from Mrs. Goddard's office in the large gym.  Students should come to the examination prepared for blood pressure checks and heart rate checks.  It would be best if they not drink "Power Drinks" at least 3 days prior to the physicals being performed since this invariably raises blood pressure and may discount them from participation.  The upcoming 9th graders will be bused over to the highschool and all students participating in the examination will be bused over to the West Georgia Tech Callaway Auditorium at 4:00.  No student is allowed to drive to West Georgia Tech.  Parents should plan to pickup students at the Callaway High School Large Gym entrance around 6:30pm.

Tennis Region Tournament Results:

Congratulations to the Girls' Tennis team for placing 1st in the Region for the 4th consecutive season!
